The Measurement Scientist is affiliated with the Skills for the Future and Business Excellence group in ETS Research. The role entails:

  • Co-designing assessment or learning materials with diverse stakeholders

  • Embedding digital tools in assessment and learning interventions

  • Applying equity-centered principles in innovative intervention design

  • Disseminating research results through publications, presentations, and client engagement

Responsibilities

  • Leading, co-leading, or contributing to conceptualizing, proposing, and directing research projects in K12 education.

  • Documenting and disseminating research results through publications, presentations, and client engagement.

  • Actively seeking input from and collaborating with peers.

  • Seeking mentoring and developing mentoring relationships.

  • Generating new knowledge or capabilities to support existing and new ETS products and services.

  • Assisting senior staff in consulting on ETS products or management concerns.

  • Developing external professional relationships.

Education

A doctorate degree in STEM/Math education or other related disciplines such as educational psychology, learning sciences, or quantitative psychology is required.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required. Research or development experience related to math education, pathways, transition from K12 to higher education or workforce readiness is preferred.

Other Knowledge/Skills

  • Research in learning and/or assessment innovation development, preferably in the education sector.

  • Use of educational technology in digital assessment or learning tools.

  • Experience in K-12 education, curriculum design, and equity-centered principles application.

  • Experience in designing, developing, and validating assessment or learning tools with actionable feedback.

  • Experience in mixed method research.

  • Ability to rapidly learn and apply new knowledge and skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Familiarity with math pathways

  • Math teaching experience in high school or college

  • Developing proposals and implementing research projects funded by federal, foundation, or other funders and clients.

  • Track record of publications and conference presentations.
